Including your device model and Android version makes it much quicker to help.

A site or app is not working properly

The blocklist sometimes covers a domain a site needs. Open the Blocking screen in the app and add that domain to the Exceptions list; it takes effect immediately, without dropping the connection. If you are not sure which domain it is, turn blocking off for a moment and try again.

I still see ads

Fend blocks ads at the domain level. When an app serves its ads from the same domain as its content, blocking that domain would break the app itself, so it is left alone. Your device also caches DNS answers for a while, so the effect is clearest on pages you open afterwards.

Protection turns itself off

Some devices stop background apps to save battery. Under Settings → Battery, removing Fend from battery optimisation or from the list of sleeping apps keeps protection running.

It will not connect, or it feels slow

Try a different DNS provider: tap the Active DNS card, look at the response times measured for each server, and pick the fastest. The network you are on may also restrict access to some providers.

Why does it ask for VPN permission

On Android that is the only way to see DNS traffic. Your traffic is not relayed through a remote server; the Privacy Policy explains this in full.

How do I delete my data

Uninstall the app, or clear its data from your system settings. Your settings and counters are kept only on your device; there is no copy anywhere else.
