What the service covers

Fend is an Android app that encrypts your device's DNS queries and answers known ad and tracker domains on the device. The app runs locally; no server service carrying traffic on your behalf is provided.

Provided as is

The app is provided as it stands. It is not guaranteed to run without interruption, to work with every device, or to produce any particular result.

The blocklist is not perfect: some ads will get through, and some sites or apps may behave unexpectedly. When that happens you can add the domain to the exception list inside the app, or turn blocking off entirely.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, no liability is accepted for indirect damages arising from use of the app. These terms do not limit any rights consumer law gives you.

Acceptable use

You are expected to use the app in accordance with applicable law. Modifying and redistributing the app falls outside the licence granted under these terms; the open-source components remain subject to their own licences.

Paid features

Any paid features offered in future are purchased through Google Play; payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds are governed by the Google Play terms. You can manage a subscription from your Google Play account settings.

Third-party services

The DNS provider you select is an independent third party subject to its own terms. Fend is not responsible for the availability or behaviour of those services.

Open-source components

Fend is based on Jigsaw-Code/Intra, used under the Apache License 2.0. The blocklist is compiled from StevenBlack/hosts, used under the MIT License. The licence notices appear on the app's About screen.

Changes and termination

These terms may be updated; the current version is always published on this page. Uninstalling the app ends your use under these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye.
